Jealousy & Insecurity

It seems to me that we only have a problem with someone else when we have a problem with ourselves. Insecurity leads to jealousy, and a failure to face what’s going on inside yourself leads you to project criticism onto others.

“I don’t like you spending time with them,” could be translated as, “I’m afraid that you will prefer spending time with them than with me and you will decide to leave me for them and then I will feel unloved and unworthy.”

When we feel good about ourselves, we are not afraid of being upstaged by another. We see the value in ourselves and others, and know that it takes all sorts to make the world go around. 🙂
